Simple 2 step DIY to draw your curtains during the day

Looking for an easy way to keep your curtains open? If you read my DIY Velcro curtain blog this secondary DIY is essential! Because theses types of curtains don’t just scoot over like a curtain rod you’ll want something like this.

Have a curtain rod? This is an easy stylistic way to add elevation and light!

Materials you need:

  1. String

  2. Large wooden beads

  3. Scissors

  4. Optional: Command hooks to store tie while window is closed

Step 1:

Cut your string just long enough to fit around your curtain with a little extra space to tie knots

Step 2:

Loop the end of your string through your bead and tie it on the very end. Do the same on the opposite side. You should now have a string with a bead on each end! Repeat the process for each curtain panel.

Bam. Done. Easy!

To use this, simply gather your curtain panel and tie the string around in a simple knot. The beads will keep it in place.

If you have one panel over your window, I like to gather the curtain in the middle.

If you have more than one, or two windows next to one another, you can gather your curtain to the side and tie your string around. When I do this, I just make sure to pull a little extra fabric out on the side that curves to style it and keep it tight against the side.

Hi there,

I’m Katie!

I’m your website designer! I have a bachelors degree from Liberal Arts College, ACU. I majored in Management and Marketing and competed to win awards with businesses I started in college.

My designs focus on UX, YOUR audience, their experience and how they interact with your site. My design philosophies are simple and clear creating the best experience that turn visitors into repeat customers.

I choose to be an entrepreneur because I don’t like the way the world operates. We get thrown so many marketing strategies created to steal our attention and manipulate us into something we didn’t ask for. The lines can be gray in this field. My #1 goal is to be as ethical with my design as I am with you. I want my clients to be treated like the beautiful valuable human they are.

When you work with me you will get a business expert and an intuitive designer. I will help you make your vision come alive and help you make the best choices for your business.
